Maybe it's:

Collecting Grateful Dead bootlegs
Collecting Oade audience tapes
Collecting Charlie Miller releases
Collecting Grateful Dead hand bills and posters
Collecting every pre 77 concert
Hot rodding a 1968 Camaro
Brewing beer
Baking bread
Posting on Live Music Archive
Watching Youtube
spying on your neighbor for ordinance violations
.....

We all are fixating on something, what's yours?

(When someone call's it a fixation, it's embarrassing to realize that it really it is!)

Being a father to my 13 year old daughter. (She is very special: she has cerebral palsy.)
Helping others out. (Being part of a 12 step program helps)
Going to shows and recording them
Making copies to be sent out to others (My goal for this year is to learn how to upload the shows I record.)
Going to college (I am a history major)
and most importantly- Collecting and listening to the Grateful Dead

I used to have a "taping" bug. I would record anything that resembled music, and also planes taking off, insects and tree frogs at night, birds, and just casual conversations around the table on a Friday night. I was capturing the moment, archiving it for the future. I still pull out tapes of conversations from 20 years ago that are hilarious to listen to. It's amazing to hear how much has changed in all of our lives over time.

And recording Dead shows was the biggest kick!

Cliff enjoys at least one icy cold imported beer each evening. Occasionally Cliff will open a ridiculously expensive bottle of wine...
